Player Ratings: Norwich 1-0 Aston Villa

Norwich picked up their second home victory in a row as they defeated Aston Villa 1-0.

Villa played poorly, and Norwich were able to capitalise. Both sides did their best to bore us in the first half, with few chances and little quality from either side. In the second half, Norwich came out looking far better and nearly took the lead through Robbie Brady, however, he spurned a golden opportunity. Nelson Oliveira put Norwich ahead after 62 minutes, scoring a low shot from 20 yards that zipped past the Villa ‘keeper.

Villa offered little to fight back and Norwich held on comfortably, bar a scary final 30 seconds as Villa came worryingly close to breaking Norwich hearts.

We’ve rated the players on their performances, and it makes for far better reading than in recent weeks.
