Derby 1-0 Norwich: Twitter reacts

Norwich City were beaten – again – in the Championship yesterday against Derby County at Pride Park.

The Canaries lost for the sixth game in succession, also extending their run to seven games without a win.

Norwich manager Alex Neil came into the game with his job under intense pressure – increasingly so now.

It was a cagey first half, with neither side really able to conjure a decent effort on goal.

However, Derby were finally able to break the deadlock in the 65th minute. And it was the former City player of the season Bradley Johnson who found the back of the net.

Johnson fired Derby ahead from 25-yards out past John Ruddy and that was enough to secure all three points for the home side.

There was certainly an interesting reception to the result on Twitter. Here is how Norwich fans reacted to the loss…

Twitter: Sad truth….Neil clinging on because we can’t afford to sack him, there is no plan b and the chairman is prancing around in sequins #ncfc (@mattyhudson90)

Twitter: Never understand when some Norwich fans and the board are like ‘Neil is the right man for the job’ #ncfc (@AlexCooper9)

Twitter: I’m waiting for Alex Neil to come out of retirement and start himself in place of Tettey #ncfc (@mattworman)

Twitter: Just about finished in Germany See #ncfc lost again I like A.Neil but a baffoon should manage this lot to the play offs. Time 2 go #ncfc (@NcfcJordan)

Twitter: The ridiculous sale of @BradJohnson15 has come back to bite Neil on the backside. He wouldnt wilt like most of our squad are right now #ncfc (@danfisherncfc)

Twitter: Alex Neil has to go if we’re to get promotion. 5 defeats in a row. At least we only conceded one today. #ncfc #otbc (@benbardsley17)

Twitter: Alex Neil is out of his depth, the squad is stale and half of them need to go, and the board are fucking pussies. #NCFC (@Jarv____)

Twitter: Supporting Delia for saving #NCFC 20 years ago is like supporting Alex Neil for Wembley or Ipswich for Bobby Robson! https://t.co/QudxIeadi7 (@DavidMaidstone)

Twitter: Really hard to understand why Alex Neil keeps sticking with the same losing formation. Surely it would be a worth a try #ncfc #pinkun (@CanaryBliss)

Twitter: Think we are stuck with Neil for a while. He is too stubborn to quit and Delia gives him a pep talk after every game. #neilout #ncfc (@TomStansfield89)
