Were Norwich right to loan Rudd out in the summer?

There is no doubting that Norwich City are in a goalkeeping crisis once again this season.

Michael McGovern has been underperforming in recent weeks and had a shocker against Brighton, but John Ruddy has done nothing to earn his place back in the squad.

Ruddy played against Leeds in the EFL Cup last week but it was his blunder that gifted Leeds their equaliser to make it 2-2.

McGovern was at fault for at least three of Brighton’s five goals at the weekend, which has left Alex Neil with a very difficult decision for Saturday’s Championship clash with Leeds.

Neil has two goalkeepers who have not proven themselves to be up to the task. However, there is one at the club who I feel would be number one; Declan Rudd.

Rudd impressed when he displaced Ruddy last season in the Premier League – even winning player of the month in December. Yet, at the first glance of a mistake he was dropped for Ruddy to come back in – eventually ending in relegation for the Canaries.

Many expected Rudd to start the Championship campaign as the number one, yet Rudd was surprisingly sent out on loan to Charlton.

With Norwich’s current goalkeeping woes, was it a mistake? Vote down below!
