City winger to miss crucial relegation run-in

Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond is expected to be ruled out for six weeks and will miss a large chunk of the Canaries fight against relegation as well as pulling out of an England U21 game against Switzerland.  His international manager, Gareth Southgate, has confirmed the injury at his press conference on Thursday morning.

This in an important opportunity for us with Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Redmond missing through injury, it is an opportunity for the lads to come in and show us what they can do. Nathan Redmond has been a key player for us and he is out.

This injury means that Redmond will definitely miss the next Norwich game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Norwich have been hit hard recently with injuries to Alex Tettey who is out for the rest of the season, while Steven Naismith and Robbie Brady are also recovering from injuries.

With Norwich in a relegation battle, the loss of Redmond will be seen as a massive blow to their survival chances. The Canaries must find a way to pull together and end an 11 match winless streak with important matches against West Brom, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Sunderland coming up. If City are to fail to win at least two of those games, a return to the Championship looks a foregone conclusion.
