Norwich forward hoping to gain crucial league experience

After a frustrating loan spell at Crystal Palace and a non-eventful Chelsea career to date, Patrick Bamford is hoping to finally establish himself as a Premier League player during his loan spell at Norwich City.

The striker made his debut for The Canaries in a 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa and was very close to registering his first goal for the club, only to see his shot blocked.

As a player who has struggled to get regular Premier League playing time, Bamford is targeting his time at Norwich to truly earn his reputation as a top quality player.op-flight.

The main reason I moved to Norwich is because I wanted to be playing first team football obviously. I’ve got to be playing this year.

Bamford also said that Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo encouraged him to move to Norwich.

He said if I stayed I wouldn’t play as much as I need to during this season.

Bamford was on loan at Crystal Palace earlier this season but his year-long loan was terminated prematurely after he only made six appearances for the London club. The England under-age international is confident that he can find his form at Norwich and build upon his evident potential.

I haven’t set myself too many targets. I just want to make sure I keep playing and we will see what happens. If I can help Norwich stay in the Premier League then that would be ideal.
