Striker arrives for Norwich medical

Sky Sports are reporting Steven Naismith is having a medical today at Norwich in order to bolster their chances of survival, and to increase his own chances of first-team football.

With Romelu Lukaku, Arouna Kone and Ross Barkley in such good form it was hard to envisage when and where Naismith was going to play for Everton, despite his impressive perfect hat-trick against Chelsea earlier on in the season.

Norwich have scored one goal in their last three matches and are currently only four points ahead of Swansea City in 18th place – who could even close that gap to one point if they beat Watford tonight – and with games coming up against Liverpool and Tottenham before a crucial game against Aston Villa, things need to improve.

The deal is reported to be worth £8.5 million and with their last three games of the season against Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton respectively, Alex Neil’s side need to be picking up the points sooner rather than later.
