Hull boss Steve Bruce says Norwich bid ’embarrassing’

Norwich City have come under fire from Hull City manager Steve Bruce after their ‘embarrassing’ bid for Robbie Brady, according to Paul O’Hehir of the Irish Mirror.

The Canaries are looking to strengthen their squad with the signing of the Ireland international but they are unwilling to meet the Tigers’ valuation of the player.

Hull want around £5 million for the winger, but it is reported that Norwich have offered £3 million for the former Manchester United player.

“Norwich have come in with bids for Robbie Brady but I have to say they’ve been embarrassing,” Bruce told The Irish Daily Mail. “The supporters should know the truth and Norwich came in two weeks ago with a bid of £2 million, £2.5 million and then £3 million. That’s ridiculous for someone who is 23, has played in the Premier League and has become a regular international.”

Bruce went onto cite Tom Ince’s sale to Derby County as the benchmark for their valuation of Brady.

“When we’ve just got twice that for Tom Ince (who joined Derby for £5 million). It doesn’t make sense. We paid £2.75 million for Robbie and that was three years ago. This can unsettle players, do this, that or the other and it’s all part of the game. But Robbie Brady will not be going for anywhere near that.”

Brady made 27 appearances in the Premier League last season and provided two assists before Hull was relegated on the final day. He also has three goals in eight international caps.
