Buendia ruled out for Norwich against Tottenham

Norwich have been dealt a huge blow heading into their clash against Tottenham this week with Emi Buendia ruled out through injury.

Daniel Farke has confirmed that Buendia has suffered a quad injury and will miss the next two games against Tottenham and Burnley, in the Premier League and FA Cup.

Buendia played a key role against Tottenham in the 2-2 draw last months, assisting Mario Vrancic’s opener and playing a part in the build-up to the second goal.

READ NORWICH VERDICT

The Argentine midfielder currently tops the chances created per-90 leaderboard for every player outside of the traditional top six. He averages over three chances created per-game, which shows how valuable he is to Norwich in the Premier League.

He has registered seven assists for the Canaries, which is only bettered in the Premier League by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin De Bruyne. This means that Norwich now need to find a way to be effective without him in the starting line-up.

Daniel Farke could call upon Onel Hernandez to start out wide. He has seen his chances limited this season, but is a direct option who likes to commit defenders and get to the byline to create opportunities. Hernandez could be useful on the counter-attack by using his pace to get in behind the Spurs defence, which could give Norwich a chance of coming away with a positive result from the game.
