Norwich battling West Ham and Leeds in the race to sign Embarba

Norwich are rivalling West Ham and Leeds United in a potential move to sign Adrian Embarba from Rayo Vallecano.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old could leave the Spanish second division side this month.

The report from Mundo Deportivo suggests that Embarba will not be short of suitors either if he is to move on, with Betis and Espanyol also keen in Spain.

Interestingly, the report names Norwich as ‘the most interested’ out of the three English sides.

Comfortable playing on either wing, Embarba could certainly strengthen an area of the squad that Norwich are currently weak in.

It looks like Embarba could be tempted by a move away from Vallecano this month too, with the club previously turning down interest in him following their relegation from La Liga, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Should he make the switch this month, he’d be arriving in good form – scoring seven and registering 11 assists in the Segunda Division this season, as per transfermarkt.

Adding some creativity to Norwich’s wide areas could help relieve some of the pressure on Emi Buendia, who has assisted seven goals this season. Such is the quality of the Argentine, Daniel Farke’s side have relied on him to provide the assists this season.

Amid links to Napoli winger Amin Younes (Arena Napoli, via The Pink’Un), Embarba might be tempted by a move to the Championship where game time could be more frequent.
