Southampton are set to make an £8.5m offer for Norwich City transfer target Mohammed Salisu this month.
The report claims that Everton and Norwich are both interested in the centre-back, with Southampton the first club prepared to firm up their interest with a bid.

Salisu, at 20, is exactly the type of player Norwich should be looking for this month. Young players, with potential, who can improve the current squad whilst also holding a resale value further down the line.
Norwich do not have the funds to go out and buy the finished article from a top club and ensure their safety. They need to be smart and make good decisions, so if they think Salisu has what it takes to be a Premier League defender, challenging Southampton for his signature would be a smart move.
The only doubt would be whether Norwich are willing to spend £8.5m on a player when it looks like they are headed for the Championship. However, you could argue that it looks likely players like Emi Buendia, Max Aarons, Teemu Pukki and Ben Godfrey could be sold for huge fees upon relegation – giving the club money to work with, potentially.
