Norwich eyeing deal for Charlie Allen – a shrewd move?
Norwich are one of a number of clubs interested in a deal to sign Linfield star Charlie Allen next summer.
According to Football Insider, Southampton, Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Norwich are all in the queue to land the midfielder.
The report claims that he has visited Tottenham’s training ground and had a trial with Manchester City, but Norwich are still hoping to sneak in and secure a deal.

Would he be a shrewd addition to Norwich’s academy?
It would appear so. At just 15, Allen has already made his senior debut for Linfield and been on the bench in the Europa League for the Northern Irish outfit, which suggests that they rate him very highly – despite his young age.
The fact that the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen on Allen suggests that he is performing to a high level, given the size of the clubs looking to sign him.
If Norwich were able to fend off some of the biggest clubs in England to land Allen it could be seen as a coup for the club. Norwich’s impressive recent record of bringing academy players into the first-team could also be useful in attempting to convince Allen that Norfolk is the way to go.
