Norwich were left frustrated on the road again as they lost 2-0 to Burnley in the Premier League.
Chris Wood scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to seal Burnley’s win, as Norwich struggled to get back into the game.
Wood headed in from a corner to hand Burnley the lead, before prodding home from close range just minutes later to grab his second.
Norwich were also dealt yet another injury blow as Alex Tettey was forced off during the first-half. His replacement, Moritz Leitner, then came close to pulling a goal back for Norwich, but saw his effort cannon back off the post.
The Canaries are now 16th in the Premier League after six games, but have conceded the second most goals in the division – only Watford, after losing 8-0 to Manchester City – have conceded more.
But how did Norwich’s players perform? Here are our player ratings…
Tim Krul: 6
No chance with either goal and was forced to kick long – leading to him giving the ball away several times. He was an injury doubt going into the game, so hopefully he is fit to face Palace.
Sam Byram: 6
Made some good challenges and a couple of impressive blocks, but didn’t offer enough going forward to cause Burnley problems.
Ibrahim Amadou: 6
Constantly left exposed at the back, forcing him to have to go in for too many challenges. He made five tackles – more than any defender has this season in one game for Norwich – but also committed four fouls.
Ben Godfrey: 6
Caught out for the second goal and was lucky to get away with what seemed to be a foul on Ashley Barnes in the box during the second half.
Jamal Lewis: 6
Looked nervous early on, but grew into the game. Made a vital challenge to keep the score at 2-0 as Jeff Hendrick looked to have a tap in at the back post.
Alex Tettey: N/A
Went off too early to judge him on his performance.
Kenny McLean: 5
Struggled to get to grips with the game in midfield. Burnley’s physicality was too much for him to handle throughout the match.
Emi Buendia: 6
Kept trying and looked the most likely to do something on the ball for Norwich. Some nice touches in the final third, but was let down by his teammates far too often.
Marco Stiepermann: 4
Stiepermann has struggled in far too many games so far this season. The German failed to have any real impact on the game and was taken off with 20 minutes to go.
Todd Cantwell: 6
Showed some nice touches and looked bright early on, but faded out of the game in the second-half. Was taken off to be replaced by Patrick Roberts late on.
Teemu Pukki: 5
A rare poor performance from Pukki up front for Norwich. He missed a golden chance to put Norwich ahead early on and then struggled to cause the Burnley defence any problems.
