Crawley 1-0 Norwich: Four things learned

Norwich were shockingly knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the second round, losing 1-0 at the Peoples’ Pensions Stadium to League Two outfit Crawley Town.

Daniel Farke fielded a much changed side from the narrow loss to Chelsea, making 11 switches overall, including many debuts. He was hoping the side would emerge comfortably victorious but it obviously wasn’t to be.

An unlucky deflection off youngster Adam Idah gave the hosts the lead, after Norwich had dominated possession and chances, with Crawley barely getting a touch of the ball prior to their opener.

There was plenty of time to make amends however, with the home team’s goal coming in the 17th minute. But things went from bad to worse, with Timm Klose going off injured after returning to the lineup after an injury, and his centre-back partner also coming off. Norwich had many chances but just couldn’t find the back of the net.
