Norwich Player Ratings: Liverpool (A)

Norwich City opened the Premier league on Friday night against European champions Liverpool at Anfield.

The game was very open, and Liverpool ran riot in the first half, despite a few Norwich chances, getting the first goal thanks to an unfortunate own-goal from Grant Hanley.

Mo Salah got his first goal of the 2019/20 campaign after a few unfortunate deflections and good link-up play with Roberto Firminho. The Reds’ third goal came from a superb Virgil Van Dijk header from Salah’s corner.

Liverpool got a fourth just before half-time with Divock Origi finding the back of the net with a header.

Norwich improved in the second-half, with Teemu Pukki opening his account for the season with a trademark goal into the bottom corner. Tim Krul prevented the scoreline from getting worse with some crucial saves. Norwich created many chances but just weren’t clinical enough in the final third.

Here is how we rated Norwich’s players after the game…
