Mario Vrancic signs new one-year contract extension

Mario Vrancic has signed a new contract at Norwich City after helping the club to promotion last season.

His new deal will keep him at Carrow Road until 2021, and he will be determined to continue featuring in the exciting project that is being led by Daniel Farke in East Anglia.

Vrancic’s extended stay continues the theme set out by sporting director Stuart Webber and head coach Farke to reward the core of last season’s Championship squad.

The Bosnian midfielder excelled for his side last term, racking up an impressive 10 goals and seven assists, as Norwich defied expectations to return to the Premier League in style.

At 30-years-old, Vrancic’s age and experience, although not at Premier League level, could prove invaluable to a team littered with young stars such as Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis.

As well as his undoubted ability in forward areas, Vrancic also produces 1.5 tackles per game and maintains an average pass accuracy of 78%, helping to transition play from defence to attack seamlessly.
