Norwich City’s summer transfer window is already well underway, with the club having made two signings thus far.
The Canaries have moved quickly to secure the signings of Josip Drmic, on a free, and Patrick Roberts, on loan from Manchester City.
Stuart Webber is clearly hard at work as he looks to give Daniel Farke the best possible chance of surviving in the Premier League next season.
Norwich secured their promotion back to the top-flight, after three years in the second tier, by winning the Championship title. They ended the campaign on an outstanding 94 points – five clear of Sheffield United and 11 clear of Leeds.
Despite the arrivals of Drmic and Roberts, Norwich will still need to add more players to their squad before a ball is kicked in anger at Anfield in August.
One market they could look to shop in is the Championship, so here are some players they could target from the division they just won…
Lenihan impressed for Blackburn at centre-back last season, including at Carrow Road against Norwich. He could be a good option for Farke to call upon, especially if Grant Hanley left the club.
Sawyers is tenacious in midfield and an efficient passer of the ball, making him an ideal fit for Norwich’s system. He could be eyed as a potential successor to Alex Tettey, if he is not in Farke’s plans next season.
The experienced Irishman could provide excellent competition for Tim Krul. He was superb in the Championship for Middlesbrough last season, as they just missed out on a place in the play-offs.
Raya turned in a series of eye catching displays between the sticks for Blackburn last term. The Spanish shot-stopper could be a good understudy to Tim Krul or potentially replace him if he doesn’t cope with the step up to the Premier League.
The Leeds United midfielder has been touted with a move to Norwich, although the fee may be an issue due to the club’s budget this summer. Phillips was sensational last season for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Norwich could still benefit from further depth in the wide areas, with Robinson impressing for Preston last season. The Irishman would be a top signing for the Canaries, if they could prise him from Deepdale.
The Reading striker could be brought in to compete with Teemu Pukki and Drmic next season. He would offer a different option off the bench, which could prove pivotal when Norwich are chasing games in the Premier League.
Rodriguez has already been linked with a move to Norwich this summer. He is reportedly available for a fee in the region of £5m, due to a clause in his contract at West Brom.
