Norwich keen on permanent deal for Jordan Rhodes

Norwich City are keen to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes on a permanent deal this summer.

According to Sheffield-based outlet The Star, Norwich are interested in landing Rhodes on a permanent basis, following his loan spell at the club.

Rhodes joined Norwich on loan from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2018, with many expecting him to be Daniel Farke’s first-choice striker.

Instead, Teemu Pukki enjoyed one of the best seasons the Championship has ever seen – scoring 29 goals and assisting nine in the league – leaving Rhodes to play a supporting role.

Despite his limited minutes on the pitch, Rhodes made some telling contributions to Norwich’s promotion – with two goals in a 2-1 win over Aston Villa, the equaliser against West Brom and the equaliser against Millwall in the 4-3 win.

The report claims that Norwich are hoping to sign Rhodes “on the cheap”, having already paid Sheffield Wednesday a £1m loan fee.
