Norwich City beat Middlesbrough 1-0 away from home on Saturday as they moved five points clear at the top of the Championship.
The Canaries are now also seven points clear of third placed Sheffield United, with QPR and Reading at home next up for Daniel Farke.
Onel Hernandez scored the only goal of the game, in the second-half, as he cut inside from the left wing and smashed a low strike into the bottom corner – his eighth goal of the season.
Here are four things we learned from the game…
It's all in Norwich's hands
With seven points now between Norwich and third placed Sheffield United, it is all in their hands to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League. Seven games left to play and only three wins away from 92 points.
Zimmermann should take the armband permanently
With Premier League football looking increasingly likely next season, Grant Hanley could well leave the club in the summer. This would leave the armband available on a permanent basis and it should go to Christoph Zimmermann – born leader.
Farke could make it easier
It is commendable how loyal Farke is to his starting line-up if the side is winning games. Despite a few shaky performances, McLean has kept his place in the team for seven games now – with Moritz Leitner and Mario Vrancic on the bench. It just feels at times like Leitner or Vrancic would be far more suited to the role and perhaps make games a touch more comfortable for the Canaries.
Trybull is the best holding midfielder in the division
Yet again, Trybull produced a superb display in the middle of the park. The German had a tough task against Boro’s combative midfielders, but was excellent in midfield and has been sensational since breaking into the team around the Christmas period.
