Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull has suggested that he could be next up to take a penalty in the Championship this season.
The Canaries have an awful record from the spot, having missed six of their seven penalties – the latest being Kenny McLean’s miss from 12 yards against Bolton.
Marco Stiepermann, Teemu Pukki, Jordan Rhodes (twice) and Mario Vrancic have all also missed from the spot, with Vrancic the only player to score one for Norwich this season – in a 1-0 win over Wigan at home in the first-half of the season.
Speaking to The Pink’Un, Trybull said this:
Maybe I should. I’ve not taken one, ever – honestly I’m just the guy at the back. But maybe there are not so many players left any more.
Maybe it should be (goalkeeper) Tim Krul next, or maybe I’m the next guy on the schedule before the game? Maybe we need to train a little bit more with them!
Trybull set a Norwich record against Bolton, as he attempted 153 passes – the most by any Norwich player since the record began.
