Norwich Summer target Schindler free to leave Kiel

Holstein Kiel’s Kingsley Schindler has been told he can leave the club this January, meaning that Norwich could reignite their interest in the midfielder, according to Fussball Transfers.

The midfielder had interest from top flight teams in Germany over the Summer, as well as the Canaries. Fortuna Dusseldorf and 1.FC Nuremberg both took a look at the midfielder, and both could add Schindler to their watch list yet again this Summer.

The winger has five goals and six assists so far in the 2.Bundesliga, and would join Onel Hernandez, who also played his football in the second tier of German football last season.

However, with Norwich admitting at the recent AGM that new signings in January were a big doubt, any deal for Kingsley may be off the cards.

Sporting director of Kiel, Fabian Wohlgemuth did not deny that his side would be able to keep Schindler during the January window.

He said:

We would like to keep him, but of course we can not rule anything out. It is our duty to keep an eye on the economic dimensions of our decisions as well.
