Besiktas and Norwich have not agreed a deal for the transfer of Nelson Oliveira in January, according to The EDP.
The Star reported last week that the two clubs had agreed a fee for Oliveira and that he would join the Turkish outfit on a permanent deal in the next transfer window.
That now appears to be wide of the mark, with this latest report claiming that there has been no contact between the two sides.
The Portuguese international has been excluded from the first-team by Daniel Farke this summer after he handed in a transfer request.
The forward scored 23 goals in two seasons for Norwich, including 15 in 31 games in his first campaign.
He was not able to seal a move away before the start of the season, but he has now been heavily linked with a move in January to Besiktas.
They are not the only Turkish side thought to be interested in a Norwich striker, with Galatasaray reportedly scouting Teemu Pukki – who has scored 12 goals this season.
