Norwich City’s Head of Recruitment Kieran Scott has revealed that Daniel Farke pushed for the signing of Moritz Leitner.
Scott claims that Farke brought Leitner to the club’s attention and wanted to bring him to Carrow Road.
Leitner joined Norwich on loan from Augsburg in January, before making the deal permanent over the summer for a fee in the region of £1.5m.
Speaking to The Pink’un, Scott said this:
As head of Recruitment, you get a lot of information from Daniel. He’s quite vocal when he speaks about players he wants to bring in. One of them was Moritz Leitner – he introduced Moritz to us, we watched him and we all backed each other on it. We all work very well together to get to the end-game.
Leitner has missed Norwich’s last two games with a calf injury, but has been in impressive form for the club this season.
The German midfielder has scored twice, against Ipswich and Millwall, and been one of the most consistent players in the team.
Leitner was on the bench for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final when they lost to Bayern Munich.
