Our man of the match: Bournemouth (A)
Norwich crashed out of the League Cup on Tuesday night as they were beaten 2-1 by Premier League side Bournemouth.
Bournemouth took the lead against the run of play in the 39th minute when Junior Stanislas fired home from inside the box, with Michael McGovern raising questions over his ability with his attempt to save it.
Onel Hernandez levelled the scores in the 71st minute, only for the hosts to score through Steve Cook three minutes later and win the game.
The Canaries hit the post three times, had one cleared off the line and missed a host of glorious openings to score.
There were a host of impressive performances across the pitch for Norwich, which makes picking a man of the match difficult.
Mario Vrancic, Onel Hernandez and Ben Godfrey were all superb, but our Norwich man of the match is… Tom Trybull!
The German ran the game in midfield and was superb throughout the match – winning the ball back and using the ball well.
He tracked back and made tackles and was crisp with his passing, always looking to go forward and create an attack.
Hernandez’s goal came from Trybull’s quick footwork and creativity to dink the ball over the Bournemouth defence and send him through.
He will be hoping that is enough to earn him a starting spot at the weekend.
