Should Norwich stick with Remi Matthews?

Should Norwich stick with Remi Matthews?

The main talking point of pre-season so far has been the goalkeeping situation at Norwich.

Angus Gunn was the club’s undisputed number one last season, impressing on his season-long loan from Manchester City.

The Norwich-born shot-stopper came third in Norwich’s player of the season voting and has now completed a £15m move to Premier League side Southampton.

This has left Norwich with Michael McGovern and Remi Matthews as their two senior goalkeepers.

Matthews was expected to make the number one shirt his own, but he has been struggling in pre-season.

The academy product impressed at Plymouth in League One last season, whilst on loan from Norwich.

However, Matthews has already made a number of errors in Norwich’s five pre-season games, leaving question marks over the position.

Norwich were linked with Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward earlier this summer, so should they revisit a deal for the Welsh international?
