It has come to that time of the year where all of the club’s decide their player of the season, and we are no different.
Here at Read Norwich, we award our own player of the season at the end of each campaign, as well as doing our man of the match after each Norwich fixture.
Last season, Alex Pritchard was crowned our player of the season for his excellent performances.
However, he is not in the running this year after leaving the club in January to join Huddersfield in the Premier League.
So, without further ado, here are our top three Norwich players from the 2017/18 season – including the winner of this year’s award!
3rd place: Harrison Reed
Harrison Reed was superb on loan from Southampton during the season. He was a consistent figure in midfield, before switching to right-back and keeping captain Ivo Pinto out of the side.
2nd place: Angus Gunn
Another loan player, Gunn was a top signing from Manchester City. The England under-21 international was a massive improvement from last season’s goalkeeping options and was excellent throughout the season.
1st place: James Maddison
Who else could it be? Maddison was Norwich’s player of the season by a distance, standing head and shoulders above the rest of his teammates.
The mercurial attacking midfielder notched 15 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, earning himself a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
He was also in the running for the PFA Young Player of the Year award as well, but he will have to settle for Norwich’s player of the season for now…
