Norwich City have made no secret of their lack of money coming into the January transfer window.
The transfer window opens in a week’s time, with 2017 drawing to a close. The club face Birmingham City and Burton Albion away before the end of the year.
These next two games could shape Norwich’s perspective going into the window. Two more poor performances and the club may look for drastic moves in the window, whereas two wins could make the club reluctant to do business.
Sporting director Stuart Webber has said that Norwich need to sell before they can buy in January, meaning players will need to be sacrificed in order for new ones to come in.
But who could the club afford to lose?
Here are four Norwich players that the club could look to move on in January…
(All transfer fees in the slideshow are estimates and not official figures.)
Steven Naismith
The Scottish forward has been touted with an exit for over a year now, having failed to live up to the hype of his switch from Everton in January 2016.
Naismith was out with an injury earlier this season, and is struggling to force his way back into Farke’s plans.
Premier League clubs could still be interested in the forward, who could be available for £2-4m.
Russell Martin
Martin has been completely frozen out of the first-team picture at Norwich. The club-captain has not played since he was booed by Norwich fans against Millwall in August.
The defender is an experienced 2nd division operator and could command a fee in the region of £2m.
Cameron Jerome
Norwich’s lack of competition for Nelson Oliveira is clear to see. Beyond Oliveira, the side has a massive lack of goals.
Jerome has scored once this season in 15 Championship appearances, and has been below par in too many of his displays.
Other sides in the division will be well aware of his Championship experience, meaning there would be interest in him if he became available.
There was talk of a £5m bid from Nottingham Forest in the summer, which could go a long way for Norwich’s finances.
Yanic Wildschut
Although Wildschut has shown he is capable of being a good Championship player, Farke does not appear to rate him.
Championship clubs are sure to be interested if Norwich make him available. A fee of £3m and upwards isn’t implausible.
