Our man of the match: Barnsley (H)
Norwich City were held to a 1-1 draw by Barnsley at Carrow Road on Saturday as they continued their torrid run without a win.
The Canaries are now five without a win, having lost their previous four matches prior to the clash with Barnsley.
Josh Murphy put Norwich in front in the first-half, though. Nelson Oliveira did well by the corner flag before teeing up Murphy for a strike that deflected into the bottom corner.
Christoph Zimmermann was brought on for James Husband at half-time – to switch formation to a back three – but Norwich conceded right at the start of the second-half.
Ivo Pinto was caught out of position on the right and Barnsley slotted the ball through and Angus Gunn had no chance with a strike into the bottom corner.
There was no sense of urgency or cohesion amongst the players and it was hard to see where a goal was going to come from.
Picking a man of the match has been easy, with only one Norwich player standing out amongst the rest on Saturday.
Our Norwich man of the match against Barnsley is… Grant Hanley!
The Scottish defender made a rare start at the back and impressed alongside Timm Klose. He won every header and was quick to read the danger and break up the play.
Hanley will now be hoping to keep up that level of performance every week and have a consistent run in the side from now until the end of the season.
