Well, where do we start… what a performance from Alan Irvine’s side!
Norwich produced an incredible result to beat Reading 7-1 at Carrow Road, scoring six in the first-half.
The opening goal came after just three minutes. Nelson Oliveira was pulled down in the box, with the forward picking himself up to emphatically slot the penalty into the bottom corner.
Wes Hoolahan then added a second in the 14th minute when he pounced on a loose ball in the box.
Alex Pritchard made it three in style as he smashed in a volley from distance before Russell Martin converted from close range to make it four.
Pritchard added his second and Norwich’s fifth as he nicked the ball back and slotted into the corner from the edge of the area.
Yann Kermorgant pulled one back for Reading when he followed up on John Ruddy’s parry in the area.
Hoolahan ended the first-half scoring with his 50th goal for the club in the 41st minute as he bundled the ball in from close range.
Cameron Jerome then sealed the scoring for the match in the 89th minute as he poked home from two yards out to make it 7-1.
This has been the hardest man of the match decision of the entire season, probably including last season too.
I could have given it to anyone in the side, bar Ruddy as he had so little to do, so it was always going to be difficult.
But I have gone for Alex Pritchard, with a special mention to every other outfield player because they were superb.
Pritchard and Wes ran the show all afternoon and picking between the two of them was very hard. But, Pritchard takes the cherry for the sheer quality of his goals and his workrate in the midfield.
