Our man of the match: Huddersfield (A)

Norwich City continued their abysmal away form with a 3-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town.

The Canaries away form has been dire this season and that continued at the John Smith stadium as Huddersfield emphatically swept them aside.

This is despite the first half being fairly evenly contested. The sides went in level at the break, but three goals in nine second half minutes secured all three points for promotion chasing Huddersfield.

Goals from Kachunga, Aaron Mooy and Nahki Wells put Norwich to the sword as a number of lapses in concentration gifted the home side the advantage.

The opening goal came from a misjudgment from Ryan Bennett, allowing Kachunga to race through and slot past Michael McGovern, with the Northern Irish ‘keeper later letting a Wells shot squirm through his fingertips.

Picking a man of the match has been relatively easy, with only a few players deserving any praise.

McGovern was my man of the match before the goals, after making a number of fine saves, but his errors for the second and third goal put that to an end.

Yanic Wildschut and Steven Naismith both impressed, but I have gone with Alex Pritchard as my man of the match.

The attacking midfielder looked sharp on the ball and worked extremely hard to win the ball back and create for the team.

When the ball went forward, Pritchard was the only Norwich player looking to move and find space, with the likes of Cameron Jerome static and not making themselves an option.

Pritchard was also unlucky not to open the scoring. He produced a fine bit of skill on the edge of the box before his dipping strike was saved by Danny Ward.
