Norwich City made it nine points out of nine yesterday with a 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest.
Norwich dominated the early proceedings and had the perfect chance to open the scoring when Wes Hoolahan was brought down in the box. However, the Irishman then saw his spot-kick saved by the Forest ‘keeper, with Cameron Jerome blazing the rebound well, well, over the bar from six-yards out.
Nottingham Forest then took the lead when Vellios reacted quickest to a rebound off the post to tap in – just seven minutes after Hoolahan’s penalty miss.
The Canaries, however, responded well in the second half. Jacob Murphy’s corner fell for Jonny Howson in the box, with the midfielder firing a shot in off the post to level the scores.
Things became even better for Alex Neil’s side shortly after, with Graham Dorrans rifling a shot into the far corner from outside the box to give City the win.

There were a number of good performers for City; Jacob Murphy, Graham Dorrans and Timm Klose all had impressive performances.
However, I have gone for central midfielder Jonny Howson.
He scored the equaliser, but it was his all-round play which has won him the award. In the absence of Alex Tettey, Howson was asked to step up his defensive games – and he duly delivered.
Howson made numerous recoveries and tackles in the match, and his use of the ball was very good when he did win it. His best performance of the season to date.
