Norwich City moved up to second in the Championship last night with a comfortable 1-0 win over Bristol City at Carrow Road.
Many anticipated a tough test from Bristol City – who sat top of the league coming into the match – but Norwich were able to ease past Lee Johnson’s side.
Norwich were confident and calm in possession, with Bristol City unable to break past Norwich’s rock solid defence.
The home side took the lead late into the second half. Ivo Pinto collected the ball on the right, his ball into Wes Hoolahan was flicked on by the Irishman, with Jonny Howson trapping the ball and firing it into the far corner to give City the lead.
There were many contenders for man of the match tonight; Alex Tettey, Jonny Howson, Wes Hoolahan, Ivo Pinto, Michael McGovern and Timm Klose all had good games.
But, I have gone for Ryan Bennett for the second match running.
Bennett was my man of the match against Sheffield Wednesday, earning the plaudits yet again last night.
The towering defender was almost flawless last night, winning virtually everything that he came his way throughout the match. He made countless tackles and interceptions, as well as dominating in the air.
