Bournemouth target £3million deal for Norwich keeper

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is plotting a move for out of favour Norwich goalkeeper, John Ruddy, according to reports.

The one-time England international is believed to be the south coast side’s ideal replacement for current number one Artur Boruc, who is out of contract in the summer.

Speculation around Ruddy’s future at Carrow Road has grown since he was dropped from the team for youngster Declan Rudd, with many believing Ruddy doesn’t want to settle for being a back-up. Remi Matthews return from his loan spell with Burton Albion means that Norwich will have a covering goalkeeper should Ruddy move to the south-coast.

While Ruddy has been linked with big-money moves to Chelsea and Arsenal, the Norwich number two may settle for a fresh start at fellow relegation strugglers Bournemouth. His reputation has been dragged through the mud in Norwich as he was filmed being involved in a drunken fight in the early hours of a night out.

Ruddy’s 6-year spell in Norfolk, which has seen him accumulate over 180 appearances for the club, may well be coming to an end.
