Norwich City team news vs Manchester United

Alex Neil’s Norwich City side travel to Manchester on Saturday afternoon to face an out of sorts Manchester United.

United have injury worries at the moment, which could explain, at least in part, their poor form of late – but have had some good news in that Wayne Rooney, Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling have resumed full training and could be available for the match.

Norwich meanwhile have their own troubles to worry about. Andre Wisdom will be absent from Neil’s matchday squad as he fights to overcome the hamstring injury he sustained in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Everton.

According to the Alex Neil, via club’s official website, there is some good news following the game against the Merseyside outfit, though. Wes Hoolahan had to be substituted after picking up a knock – but will be fit to face Louis van Gaal’s side:

“He joined in training on Thursday so there shouldn’t be any issues.”

Matt Jarvis, like Andre Wisdom, is not ready for first-team action however – although there has been an update on his progress, with Neil saying:

“He’s making real good progress. He’s doing a lot of running on the grass at the moment and it shouldn’t be too long before we get back involved with the squad,”

The Canaries find themselves in the relegation zone as they head into their encounter at Old Trafford – they have fourteen points, and are just one behind last season’s champions, Chelsea.
