Norwich City goalkeeper Declan Rudd has spoken to NorwichCityTV about how happy he is to be in the side and producing good performances.
Rudd was the man of the match as the Canaries picked up a valuable point against a strong Everton side at Carrow Road. He made a number of fantastic saves to keep Norwich in the match in what was a dismal first-half display from the home side.
Lukaku opened the scoring for the visitors by heading home at the back post but then Declan Rudd denied Everton in two one-on-one situations to keep the Canaries firmly in the match.
Norwich then capitalised on Rudd’s saves by levelling the scores just over a minute into the second half when Wes Hoolahan pounced on a clearance off the line by Ross Barkley to make it 1-1.
Rudd then capped off a fine performance by making another superb stop, this time from Gareth Barry, to keep hold of a Norwich point.

Speaking about finally getting his chance in the side, Rudd said this:
Playing for my hometown Club is everything I’ve wanted to do.
Being from Norwich, and having a season-ticket from when I was eight-years-old, it’s massive for me. You can’t let those emotions get in the way when you’re on the pitch though; you need to do your job.
I need to work hard to stay in the team because John Ruddy is right behind me and hungry to get that place back. It’s lovely to be in the team but it’s up to me now.
John has been a great professional. He still helps me out and told me I deserved my chance. I’ve worked hard and now the manager has put faith in me.
Rudd was also pleased that Norwich were able to grind out the result due to his important stops.
Our second half performance probably deserved the three points. At half-time the gaffer told us what he wanted, and we went out there and did what he said.
He gave us a bit of belief, and we nearly got the win. It’s what we should have done in the first half, but then we showed what we’re capable of to come away with a draw.
