According to Scouts in attendance, Norwich City scouts were at FC Midtjylland’s match against Club Brugge when the two sides drew 1-1 in the Europa League last night.
Scouts from Southampton and Leicester were also there, thought to be looking at Pione Sisto. However, Norwich were very likely to have been looking at a different player, Erik Sviatchenko.
Norwich were linked with a move for the 24-year-old centre back in the summer and with the Canaries desperate for a new defender; he could be just the man Alex Neil needs in the January transfer window.
The Danish international has been a very consistent performer recently and looks like he would be a very good addition to the Norwich squad. With just Ryan Bennett, Sebastian Bassong and Russell Martin as the only recognisable centre backs in Neil’s squad; Sviatchenko could add much-needed depth and quality to the squad.
