Having first addressed Goalkeepers in my mini series of transfer speculation, today I’m moving up the pitch into defence to analyse right backs. Why? I’ve never been won over by Steven Whittaker. He was unpredictable at best in the Championship and that standard has continued in the 2015-16 Premier League season. His contract ends in the summer and personally I think we should let him go.
Whittaker’s only competition right now is Andre Wisdom; a loan deal that should be cut short if possible. He’s barely featured for Norwich this season leaving me disappointed with his attitude to earn a first team place from Whittaker who has at times, played very poorly. Wisdom has never come across to me as someone who wants to develop and help Norwich even though it benefits his own career. His time would be better served on Liverpool’s bench where at least he could shadow Nathaniel Clyne.
