Norwich midfielder extends League One loan

Norwich City central midfielder Louis Thompson has extended his loan stint at Swindon Town until January 5th.

This comes after the Welsh under-21 international scored the winner for Swindon in their last match against Walsall on Tuesday. He is yet to have played a competitive match for Norwich so far.

Thompson joined Norwich in the summer of 2014 from Swindon but loaned him back for the rest of the 2014/15 campaign. He is very highly thought of at Norwich at just 20-years-old, however, Alex Neil clearly doesn’t feel he is ready for the first team yet and wants him to go out and gain more experience

The defensive midfielder has gained a formidable reputation in League One but whether or not he will ever cut it in the Premier League remains to be seen. Once his loan move ends in January, he could potentially get a loan move to the Championship, which would help to further his development for sure.
