Norwich City are facing stiff competition for Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees. Aston Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland have all been linked to the English central defender who has been in top form in the Championship this season.
Norwich were chasing centre backs all summer and placed bids in for numerous players, but to no avail as they failed to sign any defenders in the summer, other than Andre Wisdom on loan from Liverpool (although he is a right-back).
The 24-year-old defender, Lees, could well be the defender that all the fans have been gunning for. He fits the profile of player that worked so well in the Paul Lambert era; young, hungry and desperate to prove himself in the Premier League. It was a successful transfer strategy for Norwich when they were last in the Premier League, could it work again?
Well, they will have to see off competition from Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle if they are going to secure his signature.
