Norwich City midfielder Alex Tettey has spoken to Norwich’s official website about how the Canaries Championship campaign last year has improved them as players and prepared them for a relegation dogfight.
The 29-year-old Norwegian international played 38 matches in the Championship for Norwich last season, getting two goals and one assist. However, attacking is not his main strength. Alex Tettey was arguably one of the best holding midfield players in the league last season and snuffed out opposition attacks on a regular basis.

The Canaries eventually won promotion to the Premier League after playing 46 league games; finishing 3rd and then the extra three play games. This meant that Norwich technically had a 49 match season in the Championship as they won at Wembley to reach the final.
However, Alex Tettey has said that it has helped the squad to improve their physicality and be ready for the relentless Premier League battle each weekend.
We had to play a lot of games so physically and mentally it took real effort. It’s helped because when you have a tough period in the Premier League, you know you’re strong enough mentally to deal with it as we had times like that last season. Playing so many games you’re able to see what your body can cope with, and that physicality is important in the Premier League.
