Mbokani aims to be one of the Premier League’s elite

In a recent interview with Carrement Steph, Norwich forward Dieumerci Mbokani has stated his intentions for the season.

This summer saw Mbokani secure a loan move to Norwich City, having formerly worked the line for the likes of Dynamo Kiev and RSC Anderlecht. Upon arrival at Carrow Road, the Congo international has established lofty expectations.

“I aim to be within the top five scorers in the Premier League”

It seems Mbokani intends to become one of the Premier League’s “elites” by competing with the best finishers. And I have no doubt he will be able to fulfill this plan. Going on past records, the DR Congo international certainly has a knack for finding the back of the net; he has scored 91 goals in 201 appearances throughout his career.

By all means, It is a bold statement. But it is reassuring to know that Mbokani wants to push on and succeed. And I can see him doing exactly that. However, I feel that aiming for the top five goalscorers enlistment in your first season in English football, may be a little ambitious – but good luck to him!

matchday.
