Norwich have made a bid for Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray, according to Sky Sports.
Norwich have thrown their hat into the ring to sign the 31-year-old after another reported bid by Bournemouth of £5m.
This comes after Palace manager Alan Pardew denied that Murray would be leaving the club at all.
Glenn Murray is very much our player. He has been and will be brilliant for this football club. As much as we owe Glenn, he owes us for the platform that we’ve given him in the Premier League and I have a great relationship with him.
Murray made his name in Palace’s promotion season, notching an impressive thirty-one goals in forty-five appearances before picking up an injury in the playoff semi-final against Brighton. He returned to action the following season in February, only notching the one goal.
Glenn Murray spent the first part of the season on loan at Reading, scoring seven goals in eighteen appearances for the Royals. Returning to Palace in the new year, Murray found himself a major part of new manager Alan Pardew’s plans, managing to score 7 goals by the end of the season. This season has not started as well for Murray, who has so far failed to score but did play in both of Palace’s wins this season.
We’ll have to see if Norwich can beat Bournemouth to the signature of the 31-year-old, as deadline day rapidly approaches.
