Ex-Canary finds new club

Former Norwich City man Carlos Cuellar has found a new club after his release from Carrow Road.

The 33-year-old has joined Spanish second division side Almeria on a one-year deal which was announced on the clubs official website.

Cuellar joined Norwich in 2014 as one of Neil Adam’s many signings. He made his debut in the Capital One Cup against Crawley, scoring an own goal. He went on to make nine more appearances for the club, being favoured by Neil Adams on many occasions. However, the arrival of Alex Neil saw the end to Cuellar’s first team chances, being knocked down the pecking order by the successful return of Sebastian Bassong.

The ex-Sunderland and Aston Villa man was deemed surplus to requirements by Alex Neil, who axed him shortly after promotion to the Premier League.

He joins an Almeria side who were relegated last season from La Liga, and will be looking to bounce back at the first attempt. Sound Familiar?
