Norwich City made their fourth signing of the summer today by bringing in Liverpool right-back Andre Wisdom on loan for the season. Wisdom, who has previously had loan spells with Derby and West Brom, has played at youth level for England, but is yet to make a breakthrough to the Liverpool first team.
The 22 year old will bring competition for a right back position that was monopolised by Steven Whittaker last season, however with Elliot Bennet becoming another contender for the position this could lead to Whittaker sharpening up his act as he could be dropped if he is as inconsistent as last season.
Wisdom comes with a warning from many West Brom supporters, with last seasons performances being less than impressive, however Norwich fans will hope for better this season. It is reported that a loan fee of £1.25 million was exchanged for Wisdom’s services this season.
