Alex Neil talks highly of players ahead of Wembley

Alex Neil yesterday came out and spoke very highly of his players after their win against arch rivals, Ipswich Town which sets them up for a long awaited trip to Wembley.

When asked if we was happy after the win against Ipswich town Neil responded with’I’m absolutely delighted, especially with the players considering how hard they’ve worked over the course of the season’

He then went on to add ‘It was hugely important that we did enough against Ipswich to win as it now sets us up with a 50/50 opportunity of going back to the Premier League and it also gives bragging rights to the fans, we knew how much it meant to them’

Some fans criticised some parts of the two legged affair against Ipswich as scrappy but Alex Neil said he was impressed with the level of performance adding ‘it’s all relative to who you are playing, it’s never going to be easy against Ipswich as they’ve only lost 3 games at home all season. The most important thing for me was getting through the tie, we’re capable of playing better but we did all we needed to do’.

Neil said that he was ‘delighted to see such celebrations from the fans at the end of the game’ but he wasn’t celebrating himself, he said ‘we’re only half way there, the last thing we want to do is get to the final and lose, I’m extremely focussed on preparing my team for Monday now’

Are you impressed with the players as much as Alex Neil or do you think they could have done more? Let us know in the comment section below.

matchday.
