Tony Andreu: Latest News

First of all thank you all so much for following Deadline Day via our live blog, we exceeded expectation in terms of views and interactions and it was great to get everyone’s thoughts on the rumours going around.

We did think that Norwich would sign a Hamilton player due to the links with Alex Neil, we went on to sign Tony Andreu – a midfielder with a hugely impressive goal scoring record.

Since then the news surrounding Andreu has been based around his comparison to Cesc Fabregas which was made by Rangers defender Dave MacKinnon.

He reminds me very much of Cesc Fabregas,” MacKinnon told BBC Radio Norfolk. “He’s similar in appearance to Cesc and in his skill set.
“He plays slightly further forward, but he’s a really top player.”

Of course the internet reacted to this comparison with laughs but some Norwich fans have criticised the comparison saying that it only adds pressure to the French playmaker.

There has been progression today with FIFA approving the relevant paperwork which means Andreu can take part in tomorrow’s game with Blackpool.

In an interview with Norwich City TV today Andreu said:

‘I am very happy to join Norwich City which is such a huge club, I am very excited’

When asked about linking up with Alex Neil Andreu said,

‘It’s of course brilliant to get to play under Alex Neil again, I know him well and he gets the best out of me’.

Tony will wear the number 12 shirt.

Leave us your thoughts on Tony Andreu, do you think he will feature in the game against Blackpool?

matchday.
