Norwich team news: Middlesbrough (H)
Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has handed out the latest team news ahead of the club’s clash with Middlesbrough at Carrow Road.
The Canaries ran out 1-0 winners against Brentford last Saturday, with James Maddison scoring the winning goal early on.
Maddison nutmegged a Brentford midfielder before curling the ball into the top corner from 25-yards.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Farke has explained that Maddison is now a doubt for Saturday.
We were concerned with James as he felt a pain in his hamstring muscle so we had to train without him for three days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and he only returned today.
We are hoping there’s no reaction overnight, but it will be a very late decision on him – he’s a bit doubtful because he hasn’t trained as much as we’d like. We don’t want to take any risk with him.
Moritz Leitner made his debut against Brentford last week and could be in line for his first start.
Onel Hernandez and Dennis Srbeny were unused substitutes in that game, with the duo still waiting on their Norwich debuts after joining in January.
Klose is also a doubt, after missing training this week.
Timm Klose has had problems with his heels this week which has caused him pain, and we had to without him in training on Thursday. He was OK today, so we have a decision to make with him on Saturday.
Ivo Pinto has been ruled out for the second game in-a-row. The Norwich captain injured himself getting out of his car before the Brentford clash, with Harrison Reed expected to start at right-back.
Ivo’s much improved, and we thought he’d be available but we’ve still got the feeling it’s a bit of a risk as he still feels a bit of a pain in his movements. I hope he can return next week.
