# Maddison admits he feels like a Norwich supporter

Leicester City star James Maddison has admitted that he feels more like a Norwich supporter than an ex-player ahead of the two clubs clashing this weekend.

Maddison left Norwich in the summer of 2018 to join Leicester for a fee in the region of £20m, after being named in the Championship Team of the Season for his performances at Norwich.

[Speaking to The Pink’Un,](https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-james-maddison-leicester-city-premier-league-reunion-1-6420480) he said this about the upcoming reunion:

> Norwich is the first result I check every week. I feel more like a supporter than an ex-player. I want Norwich to win every single week, just two weekends when they don’t. This is one of them. I’ve got to treat it as any other game.

> It’s not any other game, it’s a special game for me. I’m not going to say different because Norwich is a club where I’ve got so many great memories from my time there.

> I am not lying when I say that. I don’t say that about every club I have been at. It has to be business as usual. I’ll go in with the same mindset as I have every other game I have played for Leicester City, and that’s to win the game and play the best I can for my team.

### READ NORWICH VERDICT

Maddison enjoyed a brilliant time with Norwich, scoring 16 goals in 53 games for the club as an attacking midfielder. He was voted Norwich Player of the Season for the 2017/18 season and enjoyed one of the most amicable departures I have ever seen from a player leaving the club to move on to better things.

It will be great to see him play again this weekend, although hopefully he has a rare off-day and Norwich are able to come home with the three points! With Norwich firmly in the bottom three in the Premier League, Maddison could inflict further pain on his former team if he orchestrates another thumping for the Canaries.
