# Byram delighted to sign for Norwich

Norwich City right-back Sam Byram has said that he is delighted to join the club after his move from West Ham.

The former Leeds defender has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Norwich, joining for a fee reported to be in the region of £750k.

He becomes Norwich’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Ralf Fahrmann, Josip Drmic and Patrick Roberts in adding to the club’s promotion-winning squad.

Byram says that he watched Norwich multiple times in the Championship last season and that the club’s style of play convinced him to sign.

[Speaking to Norwich’s website](https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/july/sam-byram-joins-norwich-city-on-four-year-deal/), Byram said this:

> I’m delighted. It’s all happened quite fast and it’s been a quick turnaround. There’s been a lot of travelling to get out here to Germany but I’m just pleased I’m here now.

> I heard about the interest a week or two ago. Obviously, I wasn’t in the plans for West Ham going forward and I needed a new challenge to go out and push on after last season.

> When I heard Norwich were interested, I was really interested \[because of\] how the manager \[Daniel Farke\] had the team playing last year.

Byram played eight games on loan for Nottingham Forest during the second-half of last season, after suffering an injury at West Ham.
