# Norwich target Zeffane in talks over new Rennes deal

Norwich City could be dealt a blow in their pursuit of right-back Mehdi Zeffane as he has entered talks over a new deal with Rennes.

[According to Le10 Sport,](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-rennes-une-tendance-tres-claire-pour-un-transfert-453632) Zeffane is in negotiations with Rennes over an extended contract, but he could also be tempted with a move away.

This means that a transfer to Norwich is not completely out of the question, as the club look to sign a right-back this summer.

With Felix Passlack returning to Borussia Dortmund and Ivo Pinto leaving upon the expiry of his contract, Max Aarons will be Norwich’s only senior right-back in the Premier League next season, as it stands.

Zeffane’s current deal with Rennes expires this summer and Norwich are reportedly looking to snap him up on a free transfer.

The Algerian international is capable of playing at right-back or left-back and joined Rennes from French giants Lyon back in 2015 on a four-year deal.
