# Liverpool join race to land Ben Godfrey

Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race to land Norwich City central defender Ben Godfrey.

[According to Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-michael-edwards-plots-10m-liverpool-swoop-for-norwich-player/), Liverpool are monitoring Godfrey and have been impressed by his performances for Norwich so far this season.

The report claims that Liverpool are planning to send scouts to watch Godfrey for the remainder of the season, with eight games left of the Championship campaign.

Godfrey started the season on the fringes of the first-team, but has become a regular at the heart of the defence after taking his chance in December.

The 21-year-old has made 28 appearances for the club this season and recently scored the winner against Rotherham in a 2-1 win.

The report claims that his price tag is well over £10m, despite previous reports that £10m would be enough to land him.
